11 and 12 year old Edlington Brothers Jailed

The most unusual and horrific crime committed by British children has now been set in court and the violent Brothers are sentenced to indefinite detention. The boys 11 and 12 years old, were known for their abuse towards the neighborhood children, but their most recent attack was the last straw. The two brothers led their two victims away from a playground to a waste land area, were they tortured and made their victims participate in sexual acts. The beatings were so severe, that the oldest victim almost died.

When I first read the beginning of this story I was thinking to myself, that maybe the judge was being a little bias about the sentencing. What does a kid have to do to be sentenced life in detention? Then I read that the boys robbed, beaten, stomped on, struck with bricks and other objects, forced them to eat neetles, chocked and burned their young victims. One boy ahd a sink thrown on top of his head. After the beating was finnished, the brothers had their two victims praticipate in sexual acts. Remember that these kids were only 10 and 11 years old when they committed this violent and scary crime. Something was very wrong with these boys and they certainly were not learning from their former run ins with the law. Therefor, they were sentenced to what they deserved. Many believe this was a result of the abusive parents that the boys had, but they had been recently with foster parents and away from their biological parents for some time. Investigations with the biological parents as well as child services are being organized. The boys should have been checked in on from child agencies, but they missed 31 appointments with the boys family.
You can obviously see that these boys need lots of attention and supervision. The people they had surrounding them and looking out for them were not very supportive or helpful. These boys will have many people working to council, and help them out before consideration of letting them free of their so called detention.
I can understand how the judge came to making his decision, because of the severity of the crimes, the past accounts of beatings, and the lack of reaction and remorse they showed. But for the most part, he was thinking of the future of them posing a threat to the community.

  1. Wow! These boys definitely deserve what they got from their sentencing. This is very scary and impacted both the victims and their families in many different ways, i'm sure. These victims will probably have a scar of this for the rest of their life. The possibility of them doing something like this or another threatening attack is mind-boggling. With their background, family history plays a big role in how a child grows up. I feel that this probably played the biggest role in how these children acted and did what they did to these others.

  2. seriously! i agree with the sentencing of these children. I think it is ridiculous that they have no sense of remorse for anyone. It makes me sad though because things could have been done to prevent them from doing the acts that they had done. It states that they were taken away from their biological parents and put into a foster home and it bothers me how knowing that they were in an abusive relationship with their parents, the child agencies had missed 31 appointments to check in on the children. This is a major issue because if there was check ups on these children and they were still behaving badly, something could have been done prior to them beating their victims and having them do sexual acts.

  4. I had not heard of this before I read this blog. Those kids definatly deserved what they got. It is scary to think about what other kids their age have been doing but just haven't gotten caught or it was just swept under the rug because of their age. I cannot even imagine people being this cruel and showing no remorse like these boys did. I hope that these boys are locked up for a long time so that they can't do anything like this again.

  5. I am shocked at this story! How a 10 and 11 year old boys could obtain so much anger and violence is beyond human understanding. What in their life made them snap and act out on their victims like that? I feel that the children should have an extremely serious intervention, should be put through several forms of therapy, and retrained on how to live without such acts. Kids their ages should only worry about being picked last for kickball or who to sit with at lunch not scheming violent acts to perform after school. I hope one day that these boys will realize the extreme pain that they have put other people through and are remorseful.
